I just got a pack of flyers with entry forms for this, so if you need one either come by Stringtown or PM me with your address and I’ll mail it to you. I am going by that way two days a week now for ceramics classes so if you want to enter something and need it dropped off & picked up after the show just bring it to me and I’ll take it up to Ozark Folkways for you before Sept. 12th
Ozark Folkways 2009 Fiber Arts Show & Sale
$1500 available for works of merit September 19th-29th, Deadline for entries is Sept 12th
Rules:
- Categories are Quilting, Weaving, Hand-Spinning, Lace Making, Basketry, Needle Arts, Felting, Wirework, Paper, and Other Fiber Techniques
- Participating Artists must be from the Ozarks Region (boarder is Ft. Smith, Russelville, Conway, Search, Newport to the south, Hazen, Poplar Bluff, Cape Giradeau to the east, Following the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers to Columbia, MO at the North, then down through Joplin, Miami, Grove, and Muskogee, OK to the west) If you aren’t sure you’re in the Ozarks I can look on the map and tell you
- Entry Fee is $5 per item, limit 3 items per person
- Artist’s name will be covered during judging if it appears on the front of the work.
- It is preferred that work be fore sale. Work sold during the show is subject to 20% commission.
- Entries are to be on display from Sept. 19th – 29th and may not be removed until October 1st (Folkways is closed on the 30th)
- Work made from a kit is not acceptable, but personal interpretation of a commercial pattern may be entered.
- No Erotica
- All work hung is at the discretion of the judges.
- Artists may write a brief bio and statement to be posted with their work on display.
